They can change from full noise cancelation, to mid, and none on the fly. Conversation mode is insane, I can hear my partner talking to me but all excess noise is cut out, works wonderfully when you’re on a really intense phone call, but want to listen or communicate with your partner. These head phones feel like nothing on your head, I’ve had them for over 8 months now. Normally the memory foam wears out, leaving your ear pushed up against the driver. This has yet to happen with the QT700s. What you need to know is this is a great work headset, great for calls, great for jamming to music before work, great for taking on the plane, but… and a big but…. if you’re looking for a audiophile headphone, you will be disappointed. Some of those higher range frequencies fall apart. You must, listen to these at mid to full volume range to avoid the highs completely falling apart. What I mean by this is, you will hear the highs start to distort at lower volumes. If you’re looking for a non audiophile headphone, a great all around every day headphone, these are the best bar none. Bose has partnerships with companies I highly suggest looking into the company you work for to see if they provide those discounts, or maybe your company will outright pay for them which makes them even more enticing to try.
