Description The original, ‘clubs’ brooch. Painstakingly hand whittled & hand painted. Each club added their own coloured ribbon to the clubs. We have a few examples of the item: • The teal, black and white pairs were from my club: Seaton Calisthenics Club, Adelaide, South Australia, circa 1975. • The pink & blue pair pictured in our Gallery belong to Debra Howell. Her club was Port Augusta Calisthenics Club, South Australia. • We have been lucky enough to publish a photo of the South Australian State Team Brooch from 1964. This brooch is owned by Mrs Meredith Phillis. Mrs Phillis was a member of the 1964 SA Junior State team who travelled to Tasmania to perform in a calisthenics display to promote the sport within Tassie. As far as we know, Tasmania has never formed an ‘association’. The team then continued on to Ballarat to compete. Sadly for us..(being in SA)…they didnt win that year. x
